Where do I download the apps?
ROV Motion can be downloaded from your phone's app store. If you're having a hard time finding the app, use keywords "Rhino Motion", "Rhino Camera Gear", or "ROV".
How do I pair my phone to ROV?
How much does the App cost?
The app is free.
Is there an Android app?:
Yes. ROV Motion can be found in the Google Play store for Android. In the app you can connect and control your slider for either video or time-lapse moves using your DSLR. However, we're working on a feature that will let you trigger the movement of ROV when you record from the video recording app on your Android device. We're still working out the details of how we'll do that so stay tuned. In the meantime, you will need a second phone to record video and time lapse from a third party app or use a DSLR. For more information, visit the ROV Motion support article
Is Bluetooth required at all times?:
Bluetooth is required to pair your phone to ROV. If using a DSLR and Bluetooth is disconnected during a move, a looped video and time lapse will continue and complete the move, an un-looped video will also complete the move. If using a smartphone and Bluetooth is disconnected during a move, any video or time lapse will stop.
Does ROV Motion support 4k resolution?
At this time, the app does not yet support 4k. However we will be adding more camera options in the (hopefully very near) future.
Does the App have Face/object detection?
At this time this feature is not an option, but may be something we add in the future.
Is it possible to shoot HDR while running a time lapse with this app?
It is possible to shoot HDR if you are using two smartphones and the ROV Motion app. You would mount one phone to ROV and the other you would use to control the ROV Motion App. However, you will have to manually start and stop recording on the mounted phone to start your time lapse as ROV Motion is the only app that recognizes ROV. Another app able to be used like this is Filmic Pro.
